Ghana agrofood & plastprintpack closed on a very positive note.

Many exhibitors and visitors alike reported new and exciting business opportunities made between entrepreneurs from all over the world, as well as lively and cordial encounters.

Now in its 7th edition, Ghana’s leading trade show & conference, agrofood & plastprintpack Ghana, returned to the Grand Arena, Accra International Conference Centre AICC from 28 to 30 Octobre 2025.

Organised by fairtrade Messe, in partnership with ACE Group and Geovision, the event once again brought together global industry leaders, innovators, and policymakers shaping the future of agribusiness, food processing, plastics and packaging in West Africa.

The International Trade Centre (ITC), a joint agency of the World Trade Organization (WTO) and the United Nations (UN), under the ECOWAS Agricultural Trade (EAT) Programme supported 10 Nigerian and 10 Ivorian agrifood exporters. Nigeria exporters showcased products such as cassava, corn, onions, and rice, while Ivorian companies will feature pineapple, corn, rice, and cassava manioc.

Alongside the SMEs, representatives from partner institutions — including the Nigerian Export Promotion Council (NEPC), the National Association of Nigerian Traders (NANTS), the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Côte d’Ivoire (CCI-CI) and the National Chamber of Agriculture of Côte d’Ivoire (CNA-CI) — joined the event for peer learning and practical exposure. Meant to strengthen their ability to support SMEs’ participation in future trade fairs.

This initiative is part of ITC's broader effort to enhance market linkages and boost the export competitiveness of agrifood SMEs across West Africa by connecting them with potential buyers and partners, and by improving their access to regional and international markets.

The 2025 edition saw 78 suppliers and technology providers participating. They came from China, Egypt, Germany, Ghana, India, Côte d’Ivoire, Kenya, Libya, the Netherlands, Nigeria, South Africa, South Korea, Sri Lanka, Switzerland, and the United Arab Emirates, all presenting tailored solutions for the Ghanaian and West African markets.

An engaging conference series convened policymakers, technology leaders, and industry experts to discuss agribusiness development, food processing innovation, sustainable packaging, and circular economy models.

• Ghana’s food & beverage technology imports increased from €59 million in 2017 to €80 million in 2024 whereas packaging technology imports reached €49 million in 2024. (VDMA)
• Food & beverage ingredients: With a population exceeding 35 million in 2025 and projected to reach 80 million by 2050 (World Bank), Ghana represents a fast-growing consumer market.
• Food trade: Ghana imported food worth US$1.8 billion and exported food worth US$3.0 billion in 2023 (WTO).

With its international pavilions, high-level conference programme, and regional business networking opportunities, agrofood & plastprintpack Ghana 2025 is once again set to be the must-attend event for trade professionals across West Africa’s agrofood, plastics and packaging industries.
